New Spy Optic Sponsor

Christmas arrived again at the post office when I went to collect these fantastic goodies from Spy. As a Slingshot UK team rider, Slingshot put me forward for sponsorship by the glasses brand and look at the beauties they sent me! Somehow I managed to get a few more treats thrown into my swag bag, so you’ll be seeing me rocking the Haymaker or OMGs this Summer with the odd Spy T and zipped hoodie.

Massive thanks to Slingshot UK and Jonathan Bentley at Spy + Drop UK

WakeMK Ladies May

#ridewhatevertheweather was the trend as the weather forecast loomed for WakeMK’s Ladies morning session on Sunday. Alas, the forecast was more accurate than the sentiment. However, it was a great morning with the wedge by the dock creating a more intimate kicker session. It was cold, very flipping cold, for May, but great fun was had by all, new tricks attempted and landed by all the girls after the newly established warm up from Sharm. They forced smiles through their blue lips, and mucked about securing the kickers. I never fail to be impressed by the gumption of the girls who #ridewhatevertheweather. Delphine Wolfe won the WAW Goodie bag making it all the way around the cable numerous times for the first time (even though she did have a slightly unorthodox method of getting to her feet) The grin, you know the one, we saw that grin a lot from Delphine. We stayed on for an extended session, but to be fair, we were all pretty numb by then. Fast forward 3 days and you wouldn’t believe we were in the same country! This weather’s bonkers! Let’s hope the sun and warmth are here to stay and it’ll be ‘short shorts’ weather for the next session.

Thanks to WakeMk for hosting and Lex for organising. The next WakeMK ladies morning will be a different date of June 10th. Check FB for the event page and head along.

I’m FIT!

‘Fitter, Faster, Stronger’ is the mantra of KurupFit and six months in, I can fully endorse that; I’m wakeboarding harder for longer and recovery time is lessening. I’m proudly wearing one of her ‘I’m Fit’ stickers right on the front of my lid (on closer inspection it less arrogantly reads ’I'm Kurup Fit’ !! ) Continue reading

Getting excited for Wakeboarding, excited for Nationals 2012!

Yesterday I took the day off work, and amazingly the weather was glorious! I’m usually a bad weather jinx, so taking a day off must have called the bluff of the weather fairies. Note taken. Continue reading

I can’t guarantee inspirational prose, intelligent social commentary, or indeed anything you’ll repeat to your gran, but I can guarantee a slightly better insight into my world and a few chuckles along the way.
